Matt Boswell commits to the University of South Alabama

NICEVILLE, FL - Sophomore right-handed pitcher Matt Boswell committed to the University of South Alabama on Thursday afternoon.

The Niceville High School alum will head to Mobile for the 2019-20 season where he will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. Boswell will join Head Coach Mark Calvi who is in his seventh season with the Jaguars and has led the team to three Sun Belt Conference championships and one SBC Tournament title.

A transfer from Coastal Alabama Community College-East, Boswell appeared in 17 games for the War Hawks, recording 6 wins during his freshman season. With a 2.89 ERA, he struck out 58 batters in 65.1 innings.

This season, Boswell has struck out 56 batters over 62.2 innings. He's 5-2 on the mound for the Raiders with a 2.73 ERA.
