Cayden Gaskin Named NJCAA Third-Team All-American
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Monday morning, the NJCAA announced its 2024 Baseball All-America Teams, recognizing one Raider: Cayden Gaskin (infield), who earned a spot on the third team following an exceptional season in which he led the team in nearly every hitting category.
Over 55 games this season, Gaskin posted an impressive .403 batting average, leading the team. He also achieved a .510 on-base percentage and a .638 slugging percentage. Gaskin led the team with 79 hits, 21 doubles, two triples, and 41 stolen bases, and was among the top in home runs (7), RBIs (59), and walks (37).
Nationally, Gaskin ranked in the top 100 in several categories: 21st in runs scored, 47th in hits, 21st in doubles, 80th in RBIs, 74th in total bases, 17th in stolen bases, 56th in batting average, 65th in on-base percentage, 9th in assists, and 10th in defensive double plays.
Gaskin was named the 2024 Panhandle Conference Player of the Year and earned First-Team All-FCSAA/Region VIII honors. He is now the seventh player in program history to receive NJCAA All-America recognition, joining the ranks of Jason Michaels (1996, second team), Jamie Brown (1996, third team), Ray Wright (1999, DPOTY), Josh Clendenin (2006, third team), Danny Collins (2011, second team), and Hunter Tackett (2016, first team).
