Raiders Split Saturday Doubleheader with Pensacola

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Northwest Florida baseball split a pair of games with Pensacola on Saturday, moving to 2-2 on the week and 8-8 in conference play.

Game One: Pensacola 7, Northwest Florida 1

Pensacola set the tone early, plating three runs in the opening inning behind a two-run double and an RBI single. The Pirates added to their lead in the third with a pair of solo home runs, stretching the advantage to 5–0.

Pensacola continued to build separation in the sixth, launching another home run to right field that brought in two more runs and made it 7–0.

Anthony St. Vincent got the start for the Raiders, allowing five runs on seven hits over three innings while striking out three.

Northwest Florida's offense was limited throughout the game, with Tristan King accounting for the lone RBI while going a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate. Defensively, the Raiders remained steady, turning a double play and committing no errors.

Game Two: Northwest Florida 3, Pensacola 1

The Raiders bounced back in game two, jumping out to an early lead in the first inning. Hunter Tarchalski delivered a two-run single to give Northwest Florida a quick advantage.

That was more than enough support for Bradley Garrett, who turned in a strong outing on the mound. The right-hander went the distance, allowing just one run on six hits over seven innings while striking out four and walking none.

Tarchalski led the offense with two RBIs, while Orlando Fernandez, Tristan King, and Sam Bradley each added a hit. Northwest Florida was aggressive on the base paths, swiping four bases, with Anthony Quigley and Fernandez each recording multiple steals.

The Raiders also played clean defense, turning two double plays and finishing the game without an error to secure the 3–1 win.
