Martinez Named FCSAA Player of the Week

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida State sophomore Lele Martinez has been named FCSAA/Region VIII Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Martinez went 4-for-8 with a pair of home runs and a double at the plate in two games last week. She drove in five runs and stole two bases as well.

On the season, the Puerto Rico native is batting .357 with four home runs and 12 runs batted in. Martinez was named FCSAA Player of the Week twice last season as well as an NJCAA National Player of the Week nod.

The Raiders (5-3) defeated Coastal Alabama – South and Southern Union in a Friday doubleheader. NWF is ranked No. 7 in the latest Region VIII Coaches' Poll.
