Abby Sulte Named Region 8 Player of the Week

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida State outfielder Abby Sulte is this week's FCSAA/Region VIII Softball Player of the Week, the association announced on Tuesday. 

Sulte, a St. Petersburg, Fla., native, batted .636 (7-for-11) with five runs scored, one double, two home runs, eight RBIs, and two stolen bases in four games for the Raiders.

The freshman reached safely in all four contests and homered in both games of a doubleheader against Calhoun on Thursday.

On the season, Sulte is tied for second on the team with a .418 batting average. She has posted a team-high 12 home runs, 38 doubles, and 38 RBIs.

The Raiders have won 13 straight games heading into this weekend's Panhandle Conference Round Robin in Dothan, Ala. NWF takes on Chipola and Pensacola on Friday, then Tallahassee and Gulf Coast on Saturday.
