Arnold Named Region 8 Softball Player of The Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Following a stellar opening weekend in Clearwater, Fla., Sister Arnold has been named the NJCAA Region VIII/FCSAA Softball Player of The Week.

Arnold, a first-year player out of Sneads, Fla., had an incredible weekend at the plate. In four games, the freshman catcher produced a slash line of .462/1.385/.563, including six hits, four home runs, six RBIs and nine runs in 16 plate appearances.

Although she went hitless in the season opener against St. Petersburg College, Arnold quickly turned that around with a three-hit, two home run, and six RBI performance against USAF Academy in the second game. Arnold carried this over the following day, raking in three more hits, two home runs, and three RBIs in two games against Georgia Military College and College of Central Florida.

Arnold currently ranks in the top 25 of the NJCAA for multiple hitting categories, including first in home runs (4), second in runs (9), 11th in slugging percentage (1.385), and 22nd in RBIs (6).

Arnold and the Raiders will be back in action this weekend for their home opener against Itawamba College on Saturday, February 3, 2024, which will be a doubleheader beginning at noon (CST).
