Six Raiders Earn All-FCSAA Honors, Carter Named Co-FCSAA Player of the Year
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The FCSAA announced its 2026 Division I Softball All-FCSAA teams Tuesday afternoon, with six Northwest Florida players earning first or second team recognition.
Leading the way for the Raiders was Savannah Carter, who was named FCSAA Co-Player of the Year alongside Miami Dade's Caroline Mito, while also earning First Team All-FCSAA honors. Carter is joined on the first team by Karson McGowan and Nyla Treptau. Bre Hughes, Haley Hughes, and Marlee Parsons were all named to the Second Team.
Carter becomes the first player in program history to earn FCSAA Player of the Year honors after a dominant freshman campaign as a two-way standout. In the circle, Carter owns a 20-1 record while leading the Raiders with a 1.24 ERA and 135 strikeouts. At the plate, despite logging just 65 at-bats, she is hitting .462 with seven home runs, 31 RBIs, a .533 on-base percentage, and an outstanding .892 slugging percentage.
Among state leaders, Carter ranks fourth in ERA, second in wins, and fifth in strikeouts. Even with significantly fewer at-bats than most position players across the state, she still ranks among Florida's top 20 in home runs.
All six Raiders are also coming off All-Panhandle Conference recognition. McGowan, Bre Hughes, and Haley Hughes each earned their first All-FCSAA honors in their sophomore seasons, while freshmen Carter, Treptau, and Parsons collected their first state selections.
The six honorees tie a program record for most All-FCSAA selections in a single season, matching the 2024 Raiders.
Northwest Florida opens postseason play Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. (CDT) in Clearwater, Fla., where the Raiders will face No. 7 seed Chipola in the opening round of the FCSAA Championship.
