NICEVILLE, Fla. – The second-ranked Northwest Florida State women's basketball team flexed its muscle in an 82-49 win over No. 9 Gulf Coast on Tuesday in Raider Arena.
The Raiders (5-0, 1-0 PC) raced out to 19-8 lead in the first quarter and never looked back building its advantage to as many as 34 in the game.
Masengo Mutanda scored a game-high 22 points with seven rebounds. Chanaya Pinto added 19 points to go with eight boards. Kynadi Kuykendoll posted eight points and nine assists.
NWF shot 46.7 percent (28-60) for the game and fired at a 54 percent clip in the second half. The Raiders were 10-of-19 from three-point range and outrebounded the Commodores 40-25.
The win marked the third straight against Gulf Coast dating back to last season.
Northwest Florida looks forward to a Panhandle Conference matchup against Tallahassee on Thursday in Raider Arena.
