Mutanda Named Region VIII Player of the Week

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida State guard Masengo Mutanda has been named FCSAA/Region VIII Player of the Week, the association announced Tuesday.

Mutanda averaged 13.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals in the Raider three wins last week.

The Minneapolis native shot 55.6 percent (15-27) from the field, 58.3 percent (7-12) from three and knocked down three of her four free throw attempts.

Mutanda's week was highlighted by a 16-point performance at Tallahassee that helped seal the Panhandle Conference title for NWF.

On the season, Mutanda is third on the team with 11 points and second with 4.1 rebounds per game.
