Raider Women Go 2-0 in St. Petersburg
The NWF women's basketball team went down to St. Petersburg to take on Daytona State and St. Petersburg this past weekend. The Raiders took care of business as they came away with 2 wins defeating Daytona State 64-58 on Saturday and St. Petersburg 60-53 on Sunday.
Sakima Walker posted a double-double vs. St. Petersburg on Sunday with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Ro Marc was efficient off the bench vs. Daytona State, scoring 11 points on 5-9 shooting and grabbing 7 rebounds. Zayla Tinner had a great weekend down in St. Petersburg as well as she averaged 14 PPG and 8 RPG.
The Raiders hold their top spot in the Region VIII Coaches' Poll and are ranked #2 in the most recent NJCAA national poll. The women have a huge test next week as they travel to Athens, Texas to take on Angelina on Friday, November 25th and #1 Trinity Valley on Saturday, November 26th.
Northwest Florida women's basketball takes the court on Friday, November 18th vs. Monroe College at 5:30 PM in Panama City, Florida.
