NICEVILLE, Fla. — Northwest Florida State softball delivered a Super Bowl Sunday rout, outscoring its opponents 28–1 to remain unbeaten on the season. The Raiders opened the day with a 6–1 win over Lake Land before exploding for a 22–0 shutout against Andrew in game two. The Raiders cap off an incredible weekend of games, going 6-0, outscoring their opponents 63-4 with four shutout victories.
Game One: Northwest Florida 6, Lake Land 1
Lake Land struck first with an RBI single in the second inning, but the Raiders wasted little time responding. Jaci Gary launched a two-run home run to center in the bottom half to give Northwest Florida the lead for good.
After three scoreless innings from both sides, AJ Vineski drove in a run with a single in the fourth to extend the lead. Haley Henry added an RBI single in the fifth, and Haley Hughes capped the scoring with a run-producing single in the sixth.
Savannah Carter continued her dominant weekend in the circle, tossing 4.0 innings while allowing just one hit and one earned run—the first hit and run she surrendered all weekend—along with two walks and six strikeouts. Mallory Baker closed the door in relief, throwing three scoreless innings while allowing just one baserunner.
Vineski and Hughes each collected two hits, while Gary and Henry led the Raiders in RBIs. Gary's homer marked her second of the week.
Game Two: Northwest Florida 22, Andrew 0
Game two was all Raiders from the opening inning as Northwest Florida unleashed a 22-run offensive outburst to complete the sweep.
Haley Hughes and Jaci Gary set the tone early with back-to-back home runs, and the Raiders never looked back. Northwest Florida scored three in the first, 10 in the third, and nine in the fourth, piling on runs through a combination of timely hitting, extra-base power, and relentless pressure on the bases.
Haley Haley Hughes (3), Jaci Gary (2), Izzy Warrick (3), Savannah Carter (2), Mallory Baker (2), Anna Grace Griggs (2), and Haley Melancon (2) all delivered multiple RBIs as the lineup turned over repeatedly, and the pitching staff, led by Vineski and Warrick, backed it up with another shutout effort to seal the run-rule victory.
