NICEVILLE, Fla. — Northwest Florida turned in a commanding performance Friday, sweeping Snead State in a doubleheader behind strong pitching and aggressive base running.

The Raiders opened the day with a 7-0 shutout victory as Savannah Carter and Mallory Baker combined to limit Snead State to just one hit.

Northwest Florida set the tone early, scoring four runs in the first inning. Falyn Beebe delivered a two-run double, later coming around to score on a tag-up. Hailey Henry added an RBI single to cap the rally.

The Raiders extended the lead in the second when Karson McGowan roped a double down the left-field line on the sixth pitch of her at-bat, driving in two more runs.

Carter earned the win, allowing one hit over 5.1 scoreless innings while striking out eight and walking three. Baker closed out the final 1.2 innings without surrendering a hit, striking out two.

Eight different Raiders recorded a hit in the opener, including Bre Hughes, Jaci Gary, Haley Hughes, McGowan, Aubrey Savini, Henry, Beebe, and Anna Grace Griggs. McGowan and Beebe each drove in two runs, while Haley Hughes and Bre Hughes swiped multiple bases. Northwest Florida totaled eight stolen bases and turned a double play in the field.
