Raiders Run-Rule Pensacola Twice on Saturday

NICEVILLE, Fla. — Northwest Florida softball took care of business at home Saturday, sweeping Pensacola in a doubleheader with 10–1 and 9–1 run-rule victories to improve to 3–1 in conference play.

Game One: NWF 10, PSC 1

Jaci Gary powered the Raiders in game one, blasting two home runs and driving in four runs in the win.

Northwest Florida set the tone early, getting on the board in the first inning when Anna Grace Griggs delivered an RBI single. Gary added a solo shot in the second to extend the lead before the Raiders broke things open in the third.

A six-run third inning put the game out of reach, highlighted by Haley Hughes' three-run double and Gary's second three-run homer of the day.

Savannah Carter added to the offensive surge with a two-run homer in the fourth. Pensacola's lone run came on a solo shot in the fifth.

Carter picked up the win in the circle, tossing four shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out eight. Gary, Falyn Beebe, and Griggs each recorded two hits, and the Raiders played a clean game defensively without committing an error.

Game Two: NWF 9, PSC 1

The Raiders carried that momentum into game two, using a big third inning to secure the sweep.

After Pensacola scored first on an error, Northwest Florida responded immediately in the bottom of the first. Gary delivered a two-run double, and Julie Stevens added a sacrifice fly to make it 3–1.

The Raiders broke the game open in the third, plating five runs. Hughes and Stevens each drove in two with singles, while Isabelle Warrick added a sacrifice fly to cap the inning.

Marlee Parsons earned the win, allowing just one unearned run over five innings while scattering six hits.

Stevens led the way with three RBIs, while Beebe added two hits. Northwest Florida showed patience at the plate, drawing seven walks, and turned a double play defensively to cap another strong all-around performance.
